Securing a student visa is often the final and mostnerve-wracking hurdle between you and your international education. For Armenian students in 2026, the process has become more digital, but the
requirements remain rigorous.

Here is your essential guide to navigating the paperwork forthe most popular destinations.

1. The Core Essentials (Universal Requirements)

Regardless of whether you are heading to Europe or the U.S.,every embassy will require these "Big Four" documents:

  • Official Acceptance Letter: Your"Zulassungsbescheid" (Germany) or I-20 Form (USA)

  • Proof of Financial Sustainability: Evidence that youcan cover tuition and living costs

  • Valid Passport: Must be valid for at least 3–6 monthsbeyond your intended stay.

  • Health Insurance: A policy covering at least €30,000 for Schengen countries.


2. Destination-Specific Requirements (2026 Updates)

Germany: The Blocked Account (Sperrkonto)

To study in Germany, Armenian students must prove they havesufficient funds. As of 2026, the required amount is €11,904 per year(€992 per month). The most common way to prove this is by opening a
"Blocked Account" in a German bank, which releases a set amount to you each month.


France: The Campus France Procedure

Armenia is part of the "Études en France"procedure. This means you must register on the official portal before even applying for a visa.

  • Financial Proof: Minimum of €615 per month.
  • Visa Fee: Approximately €50 for students fromcountries under the EEF procedure (including Armenia).


The United States: The F-1 Interview

The U.S. remains focused on "intent." You mustprove that you have strong ties to Armenia and intend to return after your studies.

  • SEVIS Fee: You must pay the I-901 SEVIS fee beforeyour interview at the U.S. Embassy in Yerevan.
